The Connaught Rangers had been recruited from across the West of Ireland for more than a centruy before the Irish Revolution and were the source of pride to many families and communities in Galway where they were garrisoned. So just why did a small detachment rebel againt their officers in far distant India in 1920, leading to the execution of their leader, James Daly? This detailed talk examines the Galway soldiers who participated in the rebellion, their background and later lives.
