Understanding 1916 - Film

‘Understanding 1916‘ is a short film which tells the story of the Easter Rising in 1916 and Galway’s relationship with that historic week. This film was made by a group of local teenagers over a 4-day period during their February midterm break. The project was funded by Galway City Council under their 1916 Commemorative Community Grant Scheme, with support from GK Media, Galway City Museum and Galway Technical Institute. The group of filmmakers are as follows: Yasmin Chen, Misha Ffrench-Molloy, Seán Murray, Naoise Walsh, Cailum Fitzgerald, Grace Harkonen and Luke Farrell.
