Check out Michael O’Dea’s military pension file(Stradbally). It has a handwritten letter from Alf Monaghan in it describing his involvement with Fr. Feeny in helping him escape. Michael was 15 years old, dressed as a curate when he cycled in to Frances Street with Fr. Feeny. Monaghan swapped clothes with Michael and cycled away to freedom. Michael was my granduncle.
