‘Excellent Day’s Sport
*
And Good Attendance
*
Inclement weather in the morning prevented a great deal of people from being present at the Horse and Pony Races held on the Fair Green on Tuesday last, but notwithstanding this there was a splendid attendance.  Some time before the first race the weather took a favourable turn, and this continuing made the afternoon a very pleasant one.  There was some excellent racing, which was much enjoyed by the huge crowd that thronged the Green.

The best and most exciting race of the day was for the “A.J.C” Plate, and the win one of the most popular.  It was won by Irish Volunteer, owned by Mr. F. Hughes, Ahascragh.

After the Races on Tuesday a very successful Dance was held in the Town Hall.  There was a very large company present, and dancing was kept up with great vigour until 4am.  Mrs Burgoyne, Miss McGreevy, Miss Ward and Miss Byrne supplied the music, which was all that could be desired.
